IEP Engine (K-12)

Overview
The IEP Engine is a tool kit for creating and managing IEPs that conform to Ministry standards.
Using the IEP Engine, you can rapidly create comprehensive plans for your students, print them, save them, update them and share them with other teachers.
The IEP Engine is delivered to your PC using Internet technology. You access the system using your regular web browser. Behind the scenes is an intelligent website running on one of our servers, linked to a database of information on educational needs and behaviours, teaching strategies and assessment methods, curriculum expectations, supplementary services and more.
As you create an IEP or SE Form, relevant information from this database is presented to you in a menu format. At each stage, you can select the items you consider most appropriate for each student, and add your personal comments and insights.
New features in the current release of the IEP Engine include:
- Automatic reconnections to work-in-progress if your link to the IEP Engine is interrupted before you save your IEP. Your work will be held in temporary storage for 3 hours, waiting for you to check-in again.
- Ability to set page breaks.
- Ability to print batches of IEPs or perform other management functions on them, via an item on the main menu called IEP management.
- Operation of CommentBuilders has been simplified, reducing the number of mouse clicks required... just highlight the comment you want and it will be added to your text when you release the mouse button.
Computer and Software Requirements:
- The IEP Engine has been customized for our school board to reflect our programs, terminology and preferences.
- The IEP Engine can be used from a variety of workstations (PC or Mac, with various versions of Netscape or Internet Explorer v4.0 or above). The system adjusts its displays and dialogues where possible to match the capabilities of the equipment you are using.
Keeping data confidential:
The IEP Engine uses data encryption to ensure that any information you send to it and any menus, reports or other items it sends to you remain confidential. Even in the very unlikely event that somebody intercepts any of this information while it is in transit, they will see only a scrambled and unintelligible message.
The data encryption process also provides you assurance that the menus, forms and other prompts you see are not being generated by an imposter, and that the data you provide will indeed be transmitted to the IEP Engine.
Remember to keep your user name and password confidential.
